This first year will lay a foundation. The basics. Will always try to have links to research the topics for yourself. Because that is the only way, in the end, that people learn and retain the information.

And the first topic is very basic but at the same time raises questions as well for each individual.

Indeed.  Now to most that would seem a very easy question to answer. But when you stop to think about it have our ideas of what words mean mislead us to misinterpret the meaning?

So what is a “Christian”?

Christ like.

To be like Him.

Not only the catch phrase “what would Christ do”  applies but also our very ideas based on His actions in the Bible.
